What’s happened so far
From March – November 2025, we worked with local artists and the Wellingborough community to develop a new Heritage Art Trail for Wellingborough that spotlights stories, people and places connected to the Black community.
As part of Black History Month, we gathered at WACA for an afternoon of creativity, music and storytelling. There were lyrical bars from Mr Milisé, traditional tales, Caribbean art from Museumand, and hands-on activities with Cinnamon Arts Group.
At a community event hosted at WACA, we explored what Black creativity could look like in 2025. Poet Mr Milisé was joined by other local artists as we imagined new possibilities and ideas together.
A group from Wellingborough took a trip to Birmingham to explore the Madiba Walk, uncovering inspiring stories and artworks. The day included a preview of a powerful new mural of Benjamin Zephaniah.
We explored the themes of Inspiration, Change and Stories with electrifying performances from Nairobi Thompson and Mr Milisé, sparking thoughtful conversation and connection.
Listen to Mr Milisé’s poem, When You Touch the Sky, written in response to the 2023 event.

Past Projects
We recently celebrated Black History Month and took a look at how we could be inspired, as we focus on three themes that significantly contribute to the creative process: Inspiration, Change and Stories.
As we explored these themes we dived into a rigorous discussion, led by the acclaimed author, poet and performer Nairobi Thompson who combined this with the delivery of some of her electrifying poetry. Youth mentor, public speaker and spoken word artist Quinton Mílise also brought his special brand of poetry whilst sharing his creative journey.
Please contact me at myrle@madewithmany.org or on 07936958997 if you would like to get involved in more events like this.
We welcomed the community to Wellingborough Library to learn all about Kwanzaa, an annual worldwide celebration from 26th December to 1st January. The day included storytelling, crafts and the creation of a celebratory banner with the Cinnamon Arts Group.
Myrle Roach reads Bre’r Anancy, the first in a series of stories to celebrate diversity, in partnership with Greatwell Homes.
With support from Made With Many, Cinnamon Arts Group presented a digital print photo-mosaic artwork remembering the work of community leader Mike Prescod MBE, created from images and quotes from the whole community.
