22nd September 2021 Brightening up the community - Hemmingwell Centre Mural Over the summer holidays we worked with some really amazing young people at the Hemmingwell Community and Skills Centre to overhaul their garden area, supported by Groundwork Northamptonshire, Lemonpop Workshops, Shudan CIC, The Compound and volunteers from the Hemmingwell Centre. The garden at the centre had become overgrown and it was great to give it a new lease of life. Groundwork supplied the gardening gloves (and expertise), and Artist Marvin Mudzongo from Lemonpop Workshops designed the mural with young people at the centre. Sarah Brown, Producer at Made With Many said: “It’s great to see the community come together and young people taking the lead on transforming their local area. Everyone involved put in a lot of effort and it has been really worthwhile. The mural is really colourful, freshening up the space and the overgrown garden has been cleared and planted up with vegetables.
