7th October 2021 VIDEO UPDATE The Dance WE Made in Corby at our Summer Shindig is now available from Casson & Friends, who collected stories and moves from Corby people and made them into a dance! Summer Shindig On Saturday 28th August 2021 we held a relaxed outdoor family fun day in Coronation Park . Families were encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the day with plenty of arts, crafts and creative activities for all ages. Parents and their children enjoyed creating chalkboard butterflies with our Associate Artist, Phiona Richards as well as creating cyanotypes with Corby Community Arts. The creation of the cyanotypes involved using UV rays from the sun as people marvelled at the fun and unique way to produce their own work of art. After 5 minutes development time, each families masterpiece had been formed! Carbon Theatre introduced sensory activities which involved allowing families to create their own sensory bottle and a colourful arrow on top of a session of fun mess-free painting. Lemonpop Workshops encouraged people to delve into their creative side and express themselves with the 'Write, Draw & Create Street Art Workshop'. It was great to see so many concentrated faces as each person's personalised canvasses were brought to life. Mad2Perform worked up the crowd with a special performance as well as The Dance WE Made with Casson and Friends that got the children involved and put smile on faces. A FREE Superhero mask-making kit was also given to the first 100 people to take home with them...and how could we forget, the FREE ice cream that went down a treat in the afternoon sunshine. A big thank you to North Northamptonshire Community First Responders who attended our event and gave demonstrations of basic life support and have a go on their CPR dummies.
