Review of the Year 2017

What a year we’ve had here at Made In Corby! From our Mardi Gras to Fun Palace and Titan the Robot, we can say that we’ve never been short of something to do! Over this past year we’ve had over 16,000 engagements with our activities which proves that the people of Corby love getting involved!

It really has been a brilliant year for us, with several new additions to our team it means that we have more room to bring bigger and better arts activities to the people of Corby!

Let’s take a look at what we’ve achieved…

Our Big Days Out this year have included trips to Water Fools and Derby Festé with two coaches full of excited people ready to visit other spectacular outdoor events. These trips inspired many to join our Community Panel for Grow Festival – which will take place on 21st and 22nd of July 2018!

New sculptures were chosen by communities and installed in both Priors Hall Park and Oakley Vale, which we hope will be a pride and joy to those communities for many years to come!

We also launched our #JoinTheConversation campaign which aims to encourage more people to tell us what other creative activities they want to see happening locally. We collected lots of great ideas at our Community Gatherings, which have also encouraged people to get involved as we got the ball rolling on our Festival and working creatively with Older People, which will continue into next year.

Another fun-filled event where we gathered even more of your ideas exploded with glitter cannons, crafts, face painting and “old skool” music – everyone from babies to grandparents had a hoot at our Family Rave!

If you would like to #JoinTheConversation with us in person, give us a call on 01536 267895 to invite us to your group for a chat over a cuppa!

And recently, with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we launched our Living Legends: Hidden Histories project which aims to uncover Corby’s untold stories! If you know someone with an extraordinary tale to tell, then nominate them through our ‘Corby’s Living Legends’ Facebook page or download the nomination form and send it to us!
