What kind of artist are you?

I’m a community artist and have a preference for analogue photography and darkroom work. More recently I have started with textiles and fabric work again after a long break (Women’s Work group in the 1990s and Patchwork Pals since 2020.)

Where do you find inspiration?

In company and in solitude, in the built environment and the natural world.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to be an artist in Northamptonshire?

Communicate. Persevere. And (most unhelpfully) be lucky.

Do you have any memories of Made With Many Projects that are important to you?

The 2014 opening concert with Deep Roots Tall Trees choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, because it meant that Made In Corby* was finally off the ground. And the various manifestations of Grow Festivals which made such good use of Corby’s open spaces.

*Made In Corby was Made With Many’s name until June 2020

What is your favourite biscuit or treat?

No biscuits but all cheese. A Kate-trap would be baited with cheese.

Where can we find you?

As an individual, nowhere – I’m old and I dislike the shenanigans of social media. As part of Corby Community Arts, on Facebook and corbycommunityarts.org.
