My First Month

Blog By Stewart Morrison, Marketing Assistant.

I was already aware of the previously named Made In Corby and upon arrival I was quickly made aware of Made With Many’s growth and journey, with their work now encompassing both Corby and Wellingborough. My name is Stewart and the community feel is what initially drew my attention towards the opportunity to be the new Made With Many Marketing Assistant and having grown up in Corby I saw this as a perfect fit to learn my trade for 6 months through a work placement.

In what has been a bleak past 15 months, there was no sense of self-pity as spirits were high and enthusiasm oozed out of each of my first team meetings. It was evident that team morale was high, most likely reinforced by the continuous and unrelenting work maintained throughout the pandemic. This resilience is a feature of Made With Many that I have quickly became accustomed to, and a skill I can already feel myself absorbing from the team.

One by one as I was meeting the team I noticed the same warm, welcome and friendly disposition upon first correspondence. This immediately put me at ease and allowed me to rid myself of any of the customary first week nerves at a new job. Feeling like part of the team so early on has given me the platform to hit the ground running and really take on board all of the new information I was being given.

Predominantly my focus is on the social media platforms, posting and sharing information about upcoming projects and various other exciting opportunities. Social media and indeed the internet in general has accelerated in importance over the last decade or so, but not least in the past year, with lockdowns and restrictions the use of social media and mediums such as Zoom have been vital, particularly for Made With Many. I was aware of this and have made sure to keep this knowledge in mind in this new role, although in-person occurrences are becoming more and more common.

My first month at Made With Many has whizzed by as I have been quickly brought up to speed with the visions and directions in which the organisation is headed. Thus far due to COVID restrictions I am yet to see an event in person, however this is an aspect of the job I feel will be rewarding, to see the smiles Made With Many put on the faces of the community.
