Grow Festival 2020

Grow Festival 2020 – our best one yet!

We’d like to say thank you to all the people, organisations and groups who made Grow Festival 2020 our best festival so far! This year’s festival recorded over 22,000 engagements in the arts including nearly 10,000 visits to Museum Of The Moon, as well as hosting the biggest Corby Mardi Gras parade to date. We were also honoured to host a fantastic launch event for Northamptonshire Year of Arts and Culture 2020, putting Corby firmly on the cultural map!

“Amazing experience, humbling to see the moon hanging in Corby. Feel very lucky it’s here.”

The Festival Team and Artists

Thanks must go to the ArtReach team who organised and produced Grow Festival in conjunction with Made With Many and The Core at Corby Cube staff teams.  Also, all of the artists, from the professionals to the choirs on the People’s Stage and the talented local young artists who produced work to perform or display at the festival. Our photographer Adam Balcomb and videographer Chris Atkinson expertly captured some of these wonderful moments that you can view on facebook.

“Fantastic, so inclusive, hope you will continue to do the festival in future years. Enjoyed the last 3.” –

The Volunteers

The Core’s Youth Advisory Panel have been attending planning meetings all year, sharing their ideas for the festival and helping to choose the artists. Volunteers  have also gifted their precious time through assisting artists at lantern-making workshops, supporting the marketing team as well as dedicating time to help invigilate the moon and support visitors throughout the Grow Festival weekend.  Made With Many’s Arts Ambassadors have consistently shared festival content online all year round, assisted with the distribution of posters, flyers and recruitment of other festival volunteers. Our volunteer translators enabled the promotion of the festival in Polish and Romanian and several generous audience members kindly shared their photos with us after the event, which you can view on facebook.

“Very impressed with the variety of activities. The atmosphere is excellent – staff helpers are great. Well done.”

Funders & Partner Organisations

We are very grateful to Arts Council England for their financial support for Grow Festival through their funding of the Made With Many programme.

Rob Purdie and the Made With Many Consortium have provided all year round support and encouragement. Corby Borough Council continue supporting with infrastructure for the third year, as well as Daniel Pickard, Kay McGinley and their team at Willow Place for helping with infrastructure and practical support for the festival as well as their flexibility in planning for wet weather.

RS Components STEM Ambassadors delivered a fantastic high tech workshop and provided a prize for the prize draw survey. Corby Library contributed space and staff for out-of-this-world craft workshops (welcoming 441 participants in one day!) and Pen Green Centre for Children and Their Families hosted the This Little Light Of Mine project, enabling the involvement of the youngest artists of the festival.

“Fabulous, children loved the moon and the robot making!”

And last but by no means least…

YOU! Our wonderful audiences who turned up from near and far and got in the spirit of the festival, wrapping up for the cold weather, bringing your hand-made lanterns, family and friends to share the joy.

“What a wonderful opportunity regardless of age for people to access a wide variety of arts.”
