Grow Festival to illuminate Corby in 2020
Grow Festival returns for its final instalment on Friday 7 & Saturday 8 February 2020, lighting up Corby town centre with spectacular performances and intriguing installations.
For the third Grow Festival, Made in Corby and The Core at Corby Cube are delighted to join forces with ArtReach to incorporate the highly-successful Corby Mardi Gras event into the festival.
Once again, Grow will fill Corby town centre with a wide range of performances, activities and experiences. Continuing to look at the essential ingredients for growth, in 2020 the festival will explore light in its many illuminating forms.
The second Grow Festival, themed around food, attracted thousands of people, who didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits, to enjoy street performers, pop-up shows, music, interactive installations and local artists in the town centre and a giant Community Feast in Coronation Park. The feast saw hundreds of diners brave the elements to tuck into a delicious three course meal created by three talented local chefs and made with produce from local growing projects and rescued food supplied by Fruitful Abundance.
Helen Willmott, Director of Made in Corby, commented:
“After a successful second festival, we are excited to be bringing the Grow Festival back in 2020. Working with ArtReach, The Core at Corby Cube and their Youth Advisory Panel, we’ve already started creating a spectacular programme that will put Corby on the cultural map.”
Joe Flavin, Director of The Core at Corby Cube, added:
“It was great to see so many people having fun and enjoying themselves at our second Grow Festival, and we’re particularly grateful to the huge numbers of volunteers without whose help we couldn’t have achieved such a fantastic event. I’m now really excited for what’s in store for Grow 2020.”
Simon Brown, Director at ArtReach stated:
“We’re thrilled to be joining with Grow Festival. After 3 years of developing the Corby Mardi Gras we are excited to bring some of its special elements to Grow to create an even bigger event.”
Grow 2019 was the second of a series of three annual outdoor festivals commissioned by Made in Corby and co-produced with The Core at Corby Cube, as part of the Creative People and Places programme funded by Arts Council England through the National Lottery and business sponsors.
