Activities on the day
Ahoy To Be A Pirate storytelling performance and crafts with Aaron Spendelow from A Children’s Story
Join Captain Aaron on an interactive treasure hunt, using storytelling, puppetry and audience participation, to help search for hidden treasure maps! Following the performance, you can create your own pirate mask using simple templates and art materials. At the end of the session, you can become part of the pirate crew, using your completed mask within a final storytelling moment before taking them home!
Visionaries make-and-take activity with Artist Sophie Cullinan
Craft a pair of ‘visions of the future’ glasses and help us imagine the future of arts and culture in the area for everyone to see.
Gallery for Change postcard making with Artist Alison Carpenter-Hughes
Create a postcard with your ideas for the future and add it to our Gallery for Change .
The Queensway Pride in Place Artist-in-Residence Becky Carrier will also be there to find out what you want to see happening in the Queensway area!
Access
FREE Parking is available at Jackson’s Lane and Commercial Way Multi Storey (the multi-storey is joined to Swansgate Shopping Centre). Accessible parking is available at both car parks for Blue Badge holders.
Buses stop in various places within the town centre – you can plan your journey at the Stagecoach or Traveline website.
Disabled access to the Swansgate Centre is via the main entrance on Market Street or via the car park and our location will have level access. The use of a wheelchair is available upon request whilst shopping in the centre, please call the centre on 01933 226029 to arrange this.
Accessible toilets and baby changing are available in Swansgate Shopping Centre. Additionally there is a Changing Places toilet nearby in Wellingborough Library.
