Save the date for Signs of the Times, a Celebration of Corby New Town’s 75th Anniversary!
Working with Corby Community Arts, 2 groups of women have created 2 textile maps of the town, Women’s Work in 1995 and Patchwork Pals in 2024. Each woman chose one or more town landmarks to represent in different textile techniques and each landmark sits in its place on a roadmap of the town.
Accompanying the textile maps will be photos from various times in the town’s past 75 years taken by the Late Developers Photographic Group.
Visit this unique art installation to enjoy the maps and photographs, and to talk with some of the textile artists and photographers. You will be encouraged to share your stories of the various landmarks depicted in the maps, to be recorded for future generations.
You can also find out how you could contribute to a forthcoming local archive – a look at the past 45 years of Corby history seen through Corby Community Arts’ projects.
There will also be tea and cake, so do pop in for a cuppa and a chat!
