Come and meet the artists who will be creating an amazing Heritage Art Trail telling the story of Wellingborough’s Black Community. Come and share your ideas, stories, memories and thoughts on black heritage in Wellingborough.

The artists who have been selected by a community panel to work on the Heritage Trails are:

  • Excavate – a community arts company based in Nottingham that has been producing community storytelling events for the past 25 years, creating theatre performances, films, and audio work.
  • Georgina Payne – an artist, educator, mentor and Creative Expressive Therapeutic Facilitator working with lino printing, painting, mixed media, illustration, photography, filming, dance and movement, drama, music.  
  • Alan Howard – an artist, facilitator and educator with over 40 years’ experience of creative and  community development work, who painted his first mural in the summer of 1976 on a wall in the main hall of the Rock Street Community Complex in Wellingborough when it was a Youth Club.

All residents of Wellingborough are invited and light refreshments will be provided.
