Outdoor Arts Community Gathering
21st September 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Community Gatherings – your chance to be in the know about the arts in Corby.
New to the Made In Corby programme, Community Gatherings are your chance to join us for an informal discussion about an area of arts practice. Over a meal, we’ll hear from a renowned arts leader and then have the opportunity to discuss our views and explore what could happen here in Corby. Each Community Gathering is linked to one of Made In Corby’s priorities, so if you’re interested in the arts in general, have a specific interest in the topic or a simply curious, then join us to be inspired and to explore the possibilities.
This community gathering features Outdoor Arts, including a meal, that is free to attend!
Linking the launch of our new festivals strand, we’ll be joined by Michelle Walker, Executive Director of Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, London’s leading festival of free outdoor performing arts in an annual 10 day celebration of extraordinary outdoor events that transform people’s lives. Previously she was Artistic Director of Hat Fair, the UK’s longest running festival of outdoor arts, which attracts 60,000 people onto the streets of Winchester over 3 days each July.
Michelle will be sharing her considerable experience of producing outdoor arts festivals with us over a two course dinner prepared by students from Tresham College.
Community Gatherings are for people who live, work, study or are a regular member of a group based in the Corby Borough. This area includes Corby, Great Oakley, East Carlton, Cottingham, Middleton, Rockingham, Gretton, Weldon, Little Stanion and Stanion.
Places are limited so BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL – book your place at www.madeincorby.eventbrite.co.uk
