Danny Hero lead actors revealed

After much excitement we can now reveal who will play the lead roles in Corby’s brand new musical Danny Hero! We at Made in Corby would like to say thank you to everyone who auditioned for roles in the past couple of weeks.

Cast Announcements

Our main protagonist and hero of the piece, Danny will be played by Corby Radio presenter Martin Brown. Martin’s character Danny doesn’t quite fit in and is a bit of a worry to his mum as he spends most of his time dreaming about being a superhero, but luckily he has a good friend Kyra, portrayed by Kayleigh Tucker, a performing arts student at Tresham College.

Local musical theatre student Jack Jenkins will become Lee, the new boy at school, who causes a bit of a stir and tries to get in the way of Danny’s romantic aspirations.

Danny’s long suffering mother Sheila will be played by Kim Laughton, who teaches performing arts to children and young people at SPARKS and Tresham College. Alongside Kim, Kevin Aitken, a local Fire Station Manager will fill the shoes of Danny’s grandad Andy. Both Kim and Kevin will have some amazing heartwrenching solos to sing that will really pull on your heart strings.

Last but by no means least, Gordon Ritchie will be channelling his inner villain as Tony, a charismatic but unprincipled businessman who also appears as Danny Hero’s nemesis ‘The Walking Dread’. Gordon works for local company Cyclomarket and also appeared in last summer’s No Way Back with Frantic Assembly.

We would just like to take a minute to congratulate each and every person who has been awarded a part within the musical, break a leg guys!
