Corby Mardi Gras 2018

Produced by Leicester-based cultural development agency ArtReach, the popular Corby Mardi Gras returned for a second year on Saturday 24 March 2018. In partnership with Made in Corby, ArtReach presented a spectacular event that invited the community of Corby to experience a free celebration of light and music.

Developed in Association with Friends of Thoroughsale and Hazel, the Corby Mardi Gras transformed the ancient woods into an enchanted forest with illuminated light sculptures, by award-winning artists Same Sky, nestled between the trees.

It’s great that collaboration with the Friends of Thoroughsale and Hazel Woods means the wonderful asset of this local Ancient Woodland in central Corby will be highlighted, and will provide a stunning backdrop to the creation of an “enchanted” environment for the music and light show.” – David Hill, Founding Director and Chair of ArtReach

With a live music stage outside Corby Cube featuring Café Jazz, Alright JACK and local talent Shape Dance, plus free crafty workshops for the local community to help create light sculptures to illuminate a special procession that took place outside Corby Cube. This event was definitely fun for all the family!
