Anglian Water to support Grow Festival 2018

Made in Corby and The Core at Corby Cube are thrilled to announce Anglian Water as the headline sponsor for Grow, a brand new outdoor arts festival being launched in Corby this Summer.

Commissioned by Made in Corby and co-produced by The Core at Corby Cube, Grow 2018 takes place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July. Inspired by the theme of water, the festival will bring to life Corby’s town centre with performances, experiences and workshops throughout the weekend.

Anglian Water has partnered with Made in Corby to highlight the environmental and sustainability issues around the growing need for water. Andy Brown, Head of Sustainability at the water company comments:

“We’re delighted to be supporting the Grow Festival in Corby this year. Using the creative and performing arts, the festival is a great way of emphasising the importance of water in our lives and the need to protect its supply for future generations.”

Over the festival weekend, Anglian Water will be on James Ashworth VC Square with a range of fun and informative activities, demonstrating the importance of caring for our water sources and infrastructure. These will include a spectacular piece of floor art depicting the water-related infrastructure under our pavements, a water magician and face painter. There will also be the opportunity for festival-goers to join our Corby water pledge to save water and protect our pipes.

In the run-up to the festival, visual artist Sophie Cullinan will be working with primary schools across Corby to create a water scene from recycled plastics, which will feature at the festival as the home for a collection of native wildlife created from shopping trolleys.

Further details about the festival will be announced in the coming months via Twitter and Facebook, through local press and on the Grow Festival website

Grow 2018 is the first of a series of three annual outdoor festivals commissioned by Made in Corby as part of The Creative People and Places programme funded by Arts Council England through the National Lottery. As one of the fastest growing borough outside of London, Corby looks forward to these three festivals aptly inspired by themes of water, light and food – all essential ingredients for growth.
