Back for another 3 Years!

Our 2014 – 2017 programme showed what Made In Corby had to offer. Now we’re back for another 3 years!

The last 3 years have been packed with so many extraordinary arts activities. We have all created something spectacular together – all of it has been Made in Corby. It has come to the end of our 3 year programme, but we’re not done yet! The team have been busy planning the next three years of the programme; including the rest of the year that is packed with loads of opportunities for local people to get involved.

What do we have planned?

There are some fantastic events that are just around the corner so you can discover what art means to you. We’re kicking off with Water Fools, a unique outdoor show that is performed entirely on top of a lake! With floating cars, dancers and fantastic fireworks you will not believe your eyes; what’s great about this, is that it is just one of the many events we have in store.

Another fun event we are looking forward to is the ‘Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave’ which is coming to Corby. What makes this rave so special is that it is specifically designed to be just as much fun for the adults as they are the children, making sure nobody is left out! We promise to make it a daft, creative, wacky, and memorable event for every member of the family.

Introducing…Grow festivals

Over the next three years, we’ll also be working with The Core at Corby Cube on an exciting festival programme. Here’s what Nick Walker, Director of The Core at Corby Cube, had to say about Grow festivals.

“Corby is one of the fastest growing towns in the country – new houses are springing up, businesses and shops are opening, and more and more people are choosing Corby as the place they want live, work and play. The Core and Made In Corby got excited by the idea of GROW, and inspired about the elements that are necessary for happy and healthy growth – Water, Food, and Light. We wanted to make some exciting work about each of those elements. This is where The Grow Festival has come from – three outdoor festivals over three years which will celebrate the newly flourishing Corby and all those who live here. In summer of 2018 we will be making a water festival, full of fun and frothy water performances; in summer 2019 we will be creating a food festival to celebrate all things culinary; and in winter 2019/2020 we will be celebrating the end of the year with a spectacular light festival. We’ll be launching the first of these festivals early next year, but in the meantime, keep checking the website for how you can be involved in helping us create some unmissable calendar events in your ever blossoming town.”

Interested in getting involved?

If you’re interested in joining our Community Panel and helping us to plan the first Grow festival, then contact us or come along to one of our Big Days Out or the Outdoor Arts Community Gathering.

There will also be an arts networking event in October and an Outdoor Arts Community gathering. These are events where you can meet like-minded people who can help plan any ideas you have to make Corby more fun for everyone.

In the near future we will be looking for new members  of the Made In Corby team – please join our newsletter below to receive job opportunities.

Our Legacy

Part of our mission at Made in Corby is creating a legacy. We aim to make our town better and more vibrant to live in. We are also proud to say that our past arts festivals have flourished since. The Field Day Festival, run by KHL Big Local has now become independent! This year will be just as great as last year, and best part is it will still be free!

Furthermore, Corby Big Film Week has become independent too, now bigger and better than ever! Save the date from 14th – 17th October 2017 and get updates on facebook HERE.

Lastly, we would like to thank you.

We’d like to thank everyone for their time put into the community and going to these events. There is no chance that we could have ever been successful without everyone here, in Corby. We hope you have enjoyed our last three years and would love for you all to enjoy the events in the years to come.

We hope to see you soon!
