Creative Kingswood & Hazel Leys is looking forward to the opening of a new community workshop which houses facilities for crafts, woodwork, 3D printing, textiles and much, much more. We are looking for talented craftspeople to come and lead masterclasses in your discipline to support people in Kingswood & Hazel Leys to try new crafts and develop skills.
- Be free to local residents
- Held on either a Saturday or Sunday between August – October 2022 at the Workshop in Corby
- No longer than a day in duration (we will provide a free lunch for leaders and participants)
- Maximum 12 participants, predominantly adults
- Require no specialist equipment (unless you are bringing your own)
We want to invite practitioners with a wide range of practises from tech to textiles, from joinery to jewellery, to make with us in the Workshop.
A volunteer committee of Workshop users and local residents will read applications and choose the 6 masterclasses they would like to commission.
The committee would be particularly like to see applications that respond to the Workshop’s values
- A welcoming and inclusive space
- Repair, re-use, recycle, upcycle and reduce waste.
- Developing new skills in Kingswood & Hazel Leys
All workshops will be delivered between August to October 2022. All Masterclasses will take place on weekend days.
Our standard fee for a day is £250 inclusive of expenses. In the form there will be space to enter your usual day rate. There is a small additional budget of roughly £10 per head for materials available.
The commission will be made to an organisation or as a freelance contract. The organisation/practitioner will be responsible for all tax liabilities and National Insurance or similar contributions.
You will be contracted by Groundwork Northamptonshire and managed by the Made With Many team, who are a local arts programme that supports the CKHL Programme.
We expect the artist to have their own public liability insurance and DBS certificate.
