Fancy Dress Competition
Prizes kindly donated by the Great Oakley Estate
The 2022 theme is Corby Pole Fair Throughout The Years! Why not think about famous people from previous Pole Fair years or moments in Corby’s history? You can enter the fancy dress competition in one of the following age categories: Under 5s, 5 – 10s, 11 – 18s and over 18s. The winner in each category will receive a £50 High Street voucher and there will be Corby Pole Fair goody bags for runners-up.
Enter the Fancy Dress competition at 10am on Charter Field
In Association with Corby Carnival Association
Re-imagined for 2022, the walking parade will have all the fun of a normal carnival parade without the lorry fumes! Led by four larger-than-life figures from Corby’s past, the walking parade will feature local groups and the Corby Carnival Court. The walking parade will leave Stephenson Way at 11am and parades through The Jamb, down the High Street and ends at St John’s Church – less than 1 mile in total!
Kids Area & The Lawn at Streetfood Fridays
Presented in partnership with Fly By Bars
The kids’ area ‘Ducky Dens’ will include face painting, a circus workshop, retro games and a crafts area! Relax and enjoy a bar football competition, lawn games, kids mini tennis and a local street artist will be creating a new piece of graffiti art live on the day – there’s something to keep all ages entertained!
Find Street Food Fridays at West Glebe Park from 11am til late.
Supported by North Northamptonshire Council
The Royal Charter grants the village of Corby rights to hold a regular market, so there’s always been a market at the Pole Fair! This year you’ll find delicious food items and local crafts alongside a range of charity stalls. You might even catch some promenading performers and musicians throughout the day too! The Market is open from 9am to 6pm on South Road.
On the Church Stage, in association with MileX Engineering
Join Corby’s international communities for celebrations of music, dance, gymnastics and crafts that are traditional in the Corby’s Romanian, Moldovian, Polish, and Slovakian communities.

Jousting with the Knights of Albion
The Knights of Albion are fast becoming one of the UK’s premier jousting teams. With breath-taking jousting displays, original storylines, movie-quality armour and colourful costumes, the Knights of Albion really push out all the stops to make their show something extra special. Using professional stunt riders, jousters, acrobats, musicians and performers, along with beautiful trick-trained Spanish and Friesian horses, they really bring an all-star action-packed performance.
See jousting displays at West Glebe Park at 10am & 3pm, with a foot parade through the fair at 1pm.
Pageant – Granting of The Charter
On the Charter Stage, in association with Taste Original
The Pageant retells the story of Queen Elizabeth I’s accident in woodland near Corby, which reportedly led to the granting of the charter. Performed by students from Corby Business Academy and written by Elspeth Robb (from an original script from 1947).
Watch the Pageant at 2pm on The Charter Stage

Strong Enough by Strong Lady
Presented in partnership with The Core at Corby Cube
Strong Enough is a powerfully optimistic show that uses circus, comedy and feats-of-strength to celebrate stories of finding strength in unexpected places. Stories of ‘ordinary’ people finding extraordinary strength in the places where we wobble, fall, and wonder if we are strong enough. Charmaine is a Circus Strong Lady and uses the physical strength of circus to celebrate the inner strength of these stories.
Catch the Strong Lady in action at the Rowlett Stage at 1pm and the Charter Stage at 4.00pm
