About The Wild Winter Challenge
To brighten up the winter period and give families with children under 5 something to do with the kids during the COVID-19 restrictions, Made With Many have teamed up with Home-Start Wellingborough & District, Northamptonshire Children’s Trust and the Northamptonshire Strong Start Team for the three month Wild Winter Challenge. Several families in and around Wellingborough are receiving monthly creativity packs, and for other families who want to get involved, all materials are low cost so you can take part online too by watching the videos available on this website. Each month there will be three Wild Winter Challenge activities released online.
You don’t have to be creative to get involved – the activities have been designed by Jodie and Harriet from The Wild Tribe, who will talk you through what you can do in the videos available on this page. There’s a mixture of making, stories, and things for the kids to try so hopefully you’ll find something you will all enjoy this winter!
The Wild Tribe are a Northamptonshire based duo, Jodie Mitchell and Harriet Creedy-Crockford. They create magical nature-based experiences with the most earth-friendly approach possible, working with sustainable principles and aiming to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout their work.
Home-Start Wellingborough & District has a long history of supporting local families, by recruiting and training volunteers with parenting experience to provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable families with young children. The support is tailor made to the needs of each family and can be wide ranging.
The Strong Start team is a group of experienced early years professionals who support pregnant mums and families with babies and young children under 5 across Northamptonshire. They work closely with health and children’s services and can provide 1:1 support to any parent. @strongstartteam can help with everything from simply befriending to providing advice and support on specific topics such as child behaviour and safe sleep. To see how they can help you take a look at their virtual programmes or request one to one support on their website. You can also contact them by telephone on 07880 136070 or email at StrongStartTeam@northamptonshire.gov.uk.
