Help needed in Grow Festival kitchen!

Volunteer Kitchen Assistants needed for Grow Festival Community Feast

A community feast for hundreds of people will take place on Sunday 28th July at Coronation Park, sharing and celebrating the food and cultures of Corby. The feast will be the culmination of months of community growing projects and three cooks will be cooking up a storm with foods inspired by the people and cultures of Corby. Music, street performances and the Peoples Stage will complete a great culmination of the FOOD inspired 2019 GROW festival.

We are looking for a large team of assistant cooks and kitchen hands to support the three head cooks to assist in the preparation, cooking and serving up of the feast. From chopping veg to keeping the kitchen clean and tidy you’ll be at the centre of the Feast activity and making sure the food is served on time.

This would include a briefing session with the three head cooks in the development of the menus which reflect the different cultures of Corby a few weeks before.
9.30am – 3pm Saturday 27th July – Food preparation day assisting the lead cooks in preparation for the Feast day in the specially built field kitchen in Coronation Park, Corby.
9.30am – 3pm Sunday 28th July – Cooking, serving and clearing up for the Community Feast – then enjoying the afternoon of performances, music in the Coronation Park.

All kitchen volunteers will be given food hygiene training and lunch will be provided on both the Saturday and Sunday.
