Wednesday 6th December 5.00pm to 6.00pm
Venue: Rooftop Arts Centre (the old library)
Address: 9 Chisholm House, Queens Square, Corby NN17 1PD
We are launching a new regular meeting of individuals that are interested in, and passionate about, the role of arts and culture in our town. We’ll be hosting monthly meetings (keeping to a strict one-hour time limit!) to explore the position of arts and culture in the life of our town, whether through well-being, visitor economy or local policy, and using our discussions to shout about the value of culture locally.
There’ll be a mixture of discussions and guest speakers, through a programme led by the groups’ interests. Meetings will be open for any interested individual to join and will routinely take place on the first Wednesday of every month.
What Next? is a movement bringing together arts and cultural organisations from across the UK, to articulate, champion and strengthen the role of culture in our society. The What Next? movement began at the Young Vic, London in 2012. Since then it has become a movement of 34 Chapters across the country, representing hundreds of organisations and individuals. It is built around building ‘unlikely alliances’ and using these to develop the voice of the cultural sector both locally and nationally. For more information visit www.whatnextculture.co.uk
What Next? Corby meetings follow the Chatham House rule and we want everyone to feel free to ask questions and share their thoughts without worrying that they’ll be quoted elsewhere or out of context. It’s generally accepted that no-one reports on the meetings, tweets anything personal or identifiable, or shares any content without checking first with the contributor.
