Join artist Emily York at The Core for the first session of Core Emerge Ensemble for #EmergeFest2018 on Saturday 14th October 2017 from 10am-2pm.
Core Emerge Ensemble is open to young people aged 12-18 who will be working towards creating content for the Emerge Festival in Corby on the 21st April 2018. Participants will be able to meet new people, work with artists, lead their own creative work, develop and share their skills, and build their confidence, all alongside gaining an Arts Award in the process!
If you were a part of last year’s Emerge programme, we would really like to have you back for the next part of the Emerge journey.
There will also be an opportunity for participants to be a part of a Young Voices Panel. Members of Young Voices will be helping to plan the festival itself looking at marketing, festival logistics and audiences, as well as gaining an Arts Award too! The dates and times of these meetings will be confirmed soon.
Emily York is an artist based in Leicester who specialises in working with schools and communities to turn stories inside out through creating imaginative and unique responses across all art forms. Past projects have seen participants record and edit their own short films, reimagine plays through illustration and visual art, as well as making stories come alive through puppetry and using physical and devised theatre.
This term’s sessions will be held on:
Saturday 14th October 10am-2pm at The Core
Saturday 11th November 10am-2pm at The Core
Saturday 9th December 10am-2pm at The Core
